“Chomomma” is the artist term of endearment for his wife, and world’s best mother, Carlene. This work began as a purely abstract construction of crashed domestic auto sheet metal, with pieces randomly trimmed and welded. Unintended, the mother and child image appeared and couldn’t be denied. The effort was then redirected to develop the maternal theme, trying to keep it loose, open and abstract. Mining domestic parts for shapes, the result is a vignette fading below the hips, mounted on a base with motorized turnstile for presentation.
